Playing God with the weather – More Extreme weather the result?

Snow covers the Forbidden City in central Beijing on November 1 after scientists induced precipitation over the city.

As proven in some of my previous entries such as the one linked here, http://apocalypse2010.blogspot.com/2009/10/extreme-weather-events.html, man has actively begun playing God when it comes to modifying weather or managing weather as it has now come to be termed. Just yesterday there was a story in the Indian national newspaper, ‘The Hindu’ that confirmed that both China and Russia are actively and openly engaged in ‘weather modification. http://beta.thehindu.com/news/international/article46022.ece In the case of China it is being done with the intent of inducing precipitation over Beijing which has apparently brought a generous snowfall over the city in the past few days. In the case of Russia the intent is to reduce snowfall over Moscow so the city can reduce its snow clearing costs. Many are now voicing justifiable concern that such blatantly admitted use of technology to modify weather by many countries, 32 at last count, could unleash a Frankenstein weather monster on Earth! How can they be so sure that their endeavours to bring about a positive result on one part of the planet will not have an exponentially adverse effect on another part of it? That extreme weather events will precede the end of this age was prophesied centuries ago in the Bible. But what role will man play in bringing about his own demise on the planet? Judging from past history man knows no restraint on the exercise of power that he accumulates, whether that power is constructive or destructive.

Man tends to equate power with destructive uses far more than with constructive uses, so his thoughts turned to the use of weather as a war making machine even before he thought of its beneficial uses, if it can be done safely which is debatable. The followings story from 2007 appeared in another major national newspaper in India where there seems to be more open discussion of such subjects than in the West. http://www.indianexpress.com/news/the-weather-god-across-the-border/252497/ The following somewhat lengthy quote from this story is worth repeating in its entirety to bring home the fact that terms such as ‘weather modification’, ‘weather management’, and ‘weather warfare’ are indeed past historical facts not Sci-Fi fantasy of the future. “India and China demonstrated extraordinary cooperation at the recently concluded Bali conference on climate change. Both the countries forcefully represented the views of developing world and their unity played a role in fashioning ‘the Bali road map’. But there was one issue that was overlooked at the talk session — the covert attempts of a few states to intentionally ‘modify’ weather patterns for military/economic purposes. Surprisingly, this ‘climatic warfare’, which has the potential to threaten the future of humanity, has also been excluded from IPCC reports. The Americans had used such techniques to modify the weather for military purposes in Vietnam. They had carried out cloud seeding experiments, beginning in 1967 under ‘Project Popeye’, with the objective of prolonging the monsoon season and blocking enemy supply routes along the Ho Chi Minh Trail. By doing this, they were successful in creating flash floods in Vietnam which, according to some estimates, gave them dividends worth three years of sustained bombing.”

In addition to the above stories, the following headlines from major news sources speak for themselves, the links provide the complete story.

The following BBC video was a real eye opener for me as to the reality of Weather Modification and how far back this technology goes. I am now more convinced than ever that this was a Pandora's Box that was best left unopened but too late for that now! Looks like the powers that be have been actively sowing the wind, God only knows what whirlwinds the world will reap because of the arrogance of man playing God!

1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. 2 Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; 3 Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah. (Psalm 46:1-3, King James Version)

25 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; 26 Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.27 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. (Luke 21:25-27, King James Version)
