Extreme Weather Events

Prime Minister Gordon Brown of The UK speaks as one of the major political leaders of planet Earth, second in prestige only to President Obama, (but perhaps not in power). Lately PM Brown seems to have developed the gift of clairvoyance and is beginning to predict some rather ‘extreme’ weather events wreaking havoc on our world in the near future. Is Mr. Brown prophesying, propagandizing or leaking information that he, in his position is privy to? I would have to say a little bit of all three.

• His prophetic thundering like Jonah preaching doom on Nineveh may indeed be factual for the simple reason that he has access to information that the average person does not, so the powers that be are well aware that these ‘problems’ will overtake mankind sooner rather than later, but not for the reasons given to the unthinking masses.
• It is also propagandizing for if the real or imagined problem presented is of such a magnitude that it demands drastic action, then it brings with it drastic taxation. Hence the Kyoto treaty with its accompanying carbon taxes that will, as usual, be borne by the average citizen not the elite. Look for terms such as ‘Carbon Neutral’ and ‘Net Zero Carbon Footprint’ to soon become household names. Little do most household dwellers realize that such theories based on pseudo science will ultimately cost them dearly in real money with little or no appreciable impact on the environment! The Earth will get a lot browner before it gets greener!
• Leaking such ‘catastrophic’ information, as PM Brown classified it, allows governments to provide ‘solutions’, solutions that no doubt cost big bucks yet without providing any bang for the buck as far as the ‘entranced by the media’ masses are concerned. The masses will be toast, literally in some cases, while the elite retreat to their safe havens inside the Earth and under it; havens that they have been building for decades if not longer.

As usual the writer of this blog always interprets ‘News’ in the light of scripture for true prophesies of coming events may only be found in the bible and nowhere else. So let us examine and see if Mr. Brown’s Nostradamus like prophecies of killer heatwaves, floods and droughts are actually biblical prophesies, not Mayan prophesies, not Nostradamus prophesies and certainly not Gordon Brown prophesises. If they are then I say head for the hills for the time of arrival of these catastrophes draws ever near.

Killer heatwaves:

⁹And men were scorched with great heat, and blasphemed the name of God, which hath power over these plagues: and they repented not to give him glory. (Revelation 16:9, King James Version) The bible indeed prophesies in more than one place of extreme heat, in one instance it is even stated that all green grass on the Earth will be burnt up! Incidentally the bible does not prophesy any extreme ice age type events although in times of extreme weather localized icing over of presently inhabited land is a possibility. The greater likelihood however is that of the polar ice caps melting because of extreme heat bringing about the other problems that Mr. Brown itemized i.e. major floods and severe droughts. Incidentally, extreme, never before seen heat and drought literally set an area spanning tens of square miles on fire in Australia earlier this year. It burnt down several towns and villages in its path and killed many people. As much as most of ‘Global Warming’ is hype there are more and more intense weather events wreaking havoc across the globe already.

Floods:

²⁵And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;

²⁶Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. (Luke 21:25-26, King James Version)

This prophesy of Jesus as recorded in the book of Luke long before there was any Mayan civilization, or Nostradamus, or Gordon Brown for that matter, speaks not just of massive tidal waves, aka Tsunamis, but also of anomalies in the celestial realm where the sun, moon, and stars will display unusual and perhaps fearful characteristics. So extreme will these weather events and celestial displays be that men’s hearts will literally fail them for fear. Floods this year have been fierce across the globe from Romania to Bangladesh, from Taiwan to The Philippines. There was even a tsunami that hit the Pacific island of Samoa in September and did considerable damage; actually there has been more than one tsunami this year but the Samoa one was the deadliest one.

Droughts: PM Brown’s last prediction is that there will be severe droughts in the coming years due to climate change. Let it be here noted that though man has been allowed access to technologies that can manipulate the weather to a certain extent man does not control the weather, only God does. God has given man some power through Satanic technologies to play God as it were, but that does not make man God; only God is God. If it serves God’s purposes to let man bring some of these devastating climate changes, to use the current catchphrase, then that is God’s business. However these extreme weather events come about, the fact remains that they are occurring at a faster pace with increased intensity. I personally believe that 2010 will be the worst weather year since weather records have been kept but it will not be the worst ever, those will come later.

¹¹And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven. (Luke 21:11, King James Version) Famines are a result of droughts; most of the agriculture in the world depends upon natural precipitation, i.e. rain, and without rain the crops fail. Food will be more valuable than gold; that I believe is a certainty. In western countries where people do not know that the dictionary has a word called ‘hunger’, this catastrophe will hit especially hard. People in third world countries that are used to surviving on a subsistence diet will cope much better than those used to three square meals a day. Read the book of Lamentations which is a heart wrenching description of what happens when food does indeed become valuable than gold.

This blog entry is not posted for the purposes of fear mongering or sensationalism. However it is imperative in my view to be realistic, especially if we believe in the immutability of God’s Word as revealed in the Holy Bible. The sure sign that the end of the world as we have known it for the past few decades, maybe even centuries, is upon us will be when all the signs that Jesus told us to watch out for begin to happen in quick succession, and with increasing intensity. Severe storms, floods, tidal waves, bursting volcanoes, ever more powerful earthquakes and droughts are wreaking havoc in all corners of the globe but I believe the worst is yet to come. PM Brown and his governing class buddies quickly provide us with readymade explanations for such phenomenon, and then come up with manmade solutions that have never worked in the past nor will they work now. Put your faith in man and you will perish along with corruptible man! Put your trust in trust your Maker and your life will be saved; whether in this world or in the next! If God chooses He will preserve you through whatever may come in the days ahead, and if he chooses to take you away to that other world, then you will be really safe, and thankful. You will discover real soon that these ‘weather’ / ‘climate’ matters are way beyond our control but do require us to make choices that will determine our eternal destiny.
