2012 Series: Another Y2K or the End of the World?

Strange spiral: Residents in northern Norway were left stunned after the lightshow, which almost looked computer-generated, appeared in the skies above them (this is an actual photograph.)

Earthquakes in diverse places

Winter solstice 2012, when time supposedly comes to an end is less than 3 years away. The movie ‘2012’ that opened on November 13th, 2009 is the first big Hollywood production to capitalize on the hype surrounding this purported date for the beginning of the end of the world. If you haven’t seen the film, this trailer will give you a pretty good idea of what to expect in it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hz86TsGx3fc

Massive planetary destruction resulting from various causes is what the movie is basically all about. California and the west coast are hit by a series of earthquakes, one of them measuring 10.9 on the Richter scale. This results in most of California including the city of L.A. sinking into the Pacific Ocean. The movie also makes mention of two 8.5 earthquakes hitting Rio Di Janeiro in Brazil, once again wreaking devastation of biblical proportions on the city and on the South American continent. As the year 2012 draws closer, the ‘doomsday’ prophets also grow in number, some who sincerely believe what they preach and others who are capitalizing on the growing hype as was the case with Y2K. The purpose of this series of articles is to bypass the hype and calculate real probabilities of such biblically proportioned catastrophes overtaking the planet in the near future. Biblically speaking the major signs that would indicate the imminent end of the world were listed by Jesus in Mat. 24:7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom (warfare): and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. Jesus warned us to look for warfare, famine, pestilences and earthquakes in diverse places, meaning all across the globe not just in certain regions. He also stressed the point that the end would come when all these signs began to materialise simultaneously or in quick succession, and on a global scale. The post WWII world has truly become a ‘Global Village’ so for the first time in history, catastrophes, be they economic, political, or health related have a greater probability of having global implications than ever before in history.

In light of the recent 7.0 earthquake in Haiti that has resulted in casualties possibly numbering over 100,000, this article will focus on the subject of earthquakes. The earth has been quaking since at least the flood of Noah some 4500 years ago so what we have to look for is not the occurrence of earthquakes but rather the frequency with which they will occur and the magnitude of the quakes. According to the following table provided by University of Milwaukee – Wisconsin there were 28 earthquakes of magnitude 6 or higher in 2009, many in populated areas. The website linked here also provides information on some of the major earthquakes of 2009 including one that was measured at 8.0 in Samoa and caused a tsunami that wrought much destruction on the tiny island. In most cases, warfare, famine and pestilence, the other signs that Jesus gave to indicate the potential end of the world, may be seen approaching from a distance. Earthquakes on the other hand strike without warning, other than building better designed buildings that can withstand the force of major earthquakes, there is not much that can be done to prepare for them, or even to forewarn populations of such threats.

The following table shows the major earthquakes that have shaken our planet in the past decade. This data has been selected from the UMW website.

Since 2004, which was the most active year this past decade as far as earthquake activity is concerned, there have been on average about 2 major earthquakes every month, this average is definitely higher than that observed over the last century. 2010 has already witnessed two 7+ quakes and one that was over 6 on the Richter scale. If this trend continues over the course of this year with major quakes hitting populated areas it would serve us well to pay close attention and see if the other indicators, warfare, famine and pestilence are also on the rise. If this does prove to be the case then `2012`may turn out to be more than just hype; it may indeed be the year when all these `signs` converge to make people sit up and realize that they are not in Kansas any longer.

‘Climate Change’, whether in the form of ‘Global Warming’ or an ‘Ice Age’ (take your pick) is forecast to bring about catastrophic changes to our planet in the near future, very near future according to the distinguished experts that gathered together in Copenhagen last month to hammer out a treaty on this issue. Man’s activities may indeed bring about catastrophic changes to the earth’s ecology but the cause may not necessarily be the average person driving automobiles or using hairsprays. As discussed in some of my previous articles ‘Weather Modification’ is no longer the realm of witch doctors or science–fiction, it is a proven fact that governments across the world are actively engaged in such activities, from the Chinese wanting snowfall to the Russians not wanting snowfall to the Indians wanting rain; God only knows which other nations are trying to play God with the weather!

Could such known interference in ‘Nature’ not have unintended (or intended) consequences such as earthquakes of ever greater magnitude? William Cohen, former secretary of defence under Bill Clinton did make mention of the abilities of ‘others’ to engage in environmental terrorism, here’s a quote from a speech he gave in 1997 at a counter – terrorism conference, "Others are engaging in an eco-type of terrorism whereby they can alter the climate, set off earthquakes, volcanoes remotely through the use of electromagnetic waves. ... So there are plenty of ingenious minds out there that are at work finding ways in which they can wreak terror upon other nations. It's real, and that's the reason why we have to intensify our efforts." There are even UN treaties dating back to 1977 that forbid the use of weather as a weapon. Since treaties are generally signed after the fact it stands to reason that countries had engaged in weather warfare prior to the signing of the treaty and this has indeed been proven to be the case where the US employed ‘weather modification’ technologies in Vietnam to induce extreme monsoon conditions over the country. The information that this happened in Vietnam comes from a Senate Committee hearing held in 1974 which probably led to the 1977 treaty.

So when it comes to ‘natural disasters’, they may not all that natural any longer. When various agencies engage in weather modification or weather control or even weather warfare activities, how can we be sure that all potential ‘butterfly effects’ have been calculated so as to not have unintended consequences? ...In 1972, Philip Merilees concocted Does the flap of a butterfly’s wings in Brazil set off a tornado in Texas? as a title for a talk to be given by Edward Lorenz who first defined the butterfly effect. When the Chinese decided to clear the skies over Beijing for the Olympic Games using weather control technologies, who is to say that it could not have resulted in a tornado in Oklahoma or a flood in India or a drought in Romania? Technology will play a major role in bringing this world to an end; this becomes apparent when studying the prophecies of the book of Revelation. What may not be apparent is that as has frequently been the case in history, man is his own worst enemy and will actively engage in activities that will result in devastation of the planet and of the species. That strange ‘unnatural’ phenomenon are being observed more and more when it comes to weather is beyond dispute. Just recently there was a beyond weird, almost Twilight Zone material light show over Norway that in no way could be attributed to natural processes.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k3z8DlNZKag This video of the Norway Spiral as it has come to be known reveals technologies at work; technologies the existence of which the average person is completely unaware of. As an aside the Norway spiral I believe is a test of holographic technologies that will play an important role in the events that precede the end of the world as we know it. Some of these technological aspects of the end were discussed in my last article, 3D Avatar and the Triple 6 Beast. In conclusion I would like to say that having studied prophecy for some 30 years now, and having been on watch for the ‘signs of the end’ for that same period of time, it is for the very first time in my life that I see multiple signs being made visible simultaneously. The world is a more tense place today than any time since the early 60’s, rumors of wars are rampant, pestilences (pandemics) are no longer the realm of history, worldwide drought and famine conditions are being reported, and technology is now advanced enough to make Jesus’ warning meaningful, “And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened” (Mat. 24:22). So it would surprise me not one bit to see earthquakes and other ‘natural’ disasters increase both in frequency and magnitude. Our present world is like The Titanic heading for the iceberg and I don’t see much chance of it changing course to avoid destruction. In the movie ‘2012’, the Woody Harrelson character, Charlie, admonishes his listeners to make their peace with their Maker, that sounds like a good idea to me and I would encourage readers to do the same. I will continue this series with some of the other signs to watch for such as increased probability of famines in diverse places due to droughts and floods and other disastrous conditions that have reduced food production over the past couple of years.

  1. If you look at complete data (not just quakes measured by UMW) there are actually 100-200 6.0+ quakes every year.

But as far back as we have earthquake data, this rate has not really been increasing.

  2. Does anyone read the Bible? I mean really read it? If they did they would know that it says NO ONE will know when it's coming.
