THE HISTORY OF CREATION - A SYNOPSIS

A Synopsis of ‘The History of Creation’, based on the Biblical account

1In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

2And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. (Genesis 1:1-2, King James Version)

THE GAP THEORY: There are several interpretations of the Biblical account of Creation as recorded in the book of Genesis, the most common one being that God created everything in six literal days dating back about 6000 years. However there is a lesser known theory called THE GAP THEORY that proves that there is a gap of indeterminate length of time between the original creation of The Heaven and The Earth as recorded in Genesis 1:1 and the time at which The Earth became ‘Without Form’ and ‘Void’ as recorded in Gen. 1:2. The Gap Theory more than adequately answers questions such as that of the ‘Origins of Evil’ that are difficult if not impossible to answer based on a literal six day / 6000 year interpretation of the history of creation. For example the Bible tells us that ‘God is Light’; if God is Light and if Genesis chapter 1 and 2 are accounts of only one creation, the original creation, then where did the darkness of Gen. 1:2 come from? Why would God need to say, ‘Let there be Light’ if He Himself is Light and was the only one present in the beginning? Darkness that is equated with Evil in the Bible must then have arisen before the first day because the first act of creation would have been the dispelling of the darkness of which we have no knowledge of how it arose. Gen. 1:1 tells us that IN THE BEGINNING GOD CREATED’... so the only one present in the beginning was God and since God is Light there could have been no darkness! Furthermore the six days of creation all begin with the phrase, ‘AND GOD SAID’...This phrase is conspicuously missing from Genesis 1:1 and 1:2 which describes the creation of the Heaven and the Earth as well as describing the state of the Earth as being WITHOUT FORM AND VOID’... Why do these two verses not begin with ‘AND GOD SAID’ that describes the very important act of creation of THE HEAVEN and THE EARTH, the two most significant places in the Universe from a Biblical perspective? When we analyse the first chapter of Genesis with a critical eye it becomes somewhat obvious that the first two verses of this chapter stand on their own apart from the six days of (re)creation that begin in verse 3 with the phrase, And God Said’... The writings of the apostle Peter also confirm that the present heavens and Earth are different than the original heavens and Earth (2 Pet. 3:7). Whilst there is no doubt that God could create the entire Cosmos in 6 days if He chose to do so, the Biblical principle of seeding and gradual growth would contradict such an interpretation. The following synopsis of The History of Creation from a Biblical perspective is based on The Gap Theory of Creation.

· THE DISTANT PAST: THE GOLDEN AGE OF INNOCENCE AND LIGHT

· BEFORE THE BEGINNING / God: The Creator and originator of all things plans and lays out the blueprint of material creation (Prov. 8)

· IN THE BEGINNING / The (city of) Heaven: First material place created in the Universe was the abode of God and is a city not a planet (Gen. 1:1, Heb. 11:10, 11:16, 12:22, 13:14, Rev. 21:2, 21:10)

· Angels (morning stars) and humans (sons of God): First intelligent created life in the Universe before the creation of planets and stars (Job 38, Prov. 8)

· Planet Earth: First created planet in the Universe, made suitable for life (Gen. 1:1, Prov. 8, Isa. 45:18)

· Intelligent life transplanted from The Heaven to The Earth (Prov. 8, Isa. 45:18)

· Other planets and stars created beginning with our Solar System; origin of the heavens (Prov. 8)

· Each planet and its satellite(s) designed and created to support life (Isa. 45:18, Heb. 1:2, Heb. 11:3)

· Ancient worlds inhabited by humans (sons of God) ruled by angelic beings (Lucifer, angels – Isa. 14:13, Col. 1:16)

· Corporeal life spreads from the Earth to other planets and galaxies as Universe expands (based on circumstantial evidence and mythology)

· Hierarchy of rulers established (Col. 1:16)

· God rules The Universe from The city of Heaven (Psalm 103:19)

· High ranking angels rule constellations (Isa. 14:13)

· Lower ranking angels rule planetary systems (Col. 1:16)

· Individual planets ruled by humans: e.g. Mars, Saturn, Jupiter etc. (Gen. 6:2)

· ORIGIN OF EVIL AND DEATH

· Lucifer rebels against God joined by other angels and humans (Eze. 28:15)

· The Evolution of Evil: Lucifer transformed from light bearer to angel of darkness (Isa. 14, Eze. 28, Jude)

· The Evolution of Evil: Origin of mythological gods, chimeras and hybrids; ancient genetic experimentation (How demons and gods came into existence)

· The Evolution of Evil: The origin of the Reptilians, The Serpent, The Dragon and Satan (Satan is not the same as Lucifer except in character – both are absolutely evil)

· THE FIRST JUDGMENT OF EVIL

· War in the heavens and on Earth: God judges Lucifer and his co–conspirator angels and humans resulting in interstellar and interplanetary warfare between God’s host of heaven and Lucifer’s army (Isa. 14:12) The Star Wars movies are loosely based on the events of this age

· War in the heavens and on Earth: Lucifer headquartered on Earth during war, massive underground structures created as military bases, shelters from surface radiation and as prisons. Planet Earth crisscrossed with underground and undersea tunnels, many of which are in existence till today (Isa. 14, Jer. 4:26, mythological and circumstantial evidence)

· War in the heavens and on Earth: Massive planetary destruction in our present Solar System particularly Mars and Earth as a result of the use of nuclear and more destructive weaponry; our Solar System including the Sun completely flooded with water at the end of this war, all light extinguished in the visible heavens (Gen. 1:2, 2 Pet. 3:6)

· Lucifer and fellow angels judged and imprisoned in hell which may have been an underground base or prison created by Lucifer himself; poetic justice indeed (2 Pet. 2:4, Jude:6)

· Satan and the reptilians along with other chimeras such as centaurs, and hybrids that were once corporeal creatures created by Lucifer become disembodied spirits (origin of evil spirits)

· THE RECENT PAST: THE BEGINNING OF THE AGE OF MAN

· The Recreation: God makes Planet Earth habitable once again by removal and relocation of surface waters and reappearance of dry land; the Sun is reignited to give light on Earth and beyond (Gen. 1)

· Man (as in Adam and his descendants) made new and very recent custodians of Planet Earth (Gen. 1:27, 28)

· The fall of Man – Evil and Death revisit planet Earth (Gen. 3)

· The first civilization of man: the Pre – Flood World (Gen. 4-9)

· Man’s interaction and interbreeding with extra terrestrial humans (sons of God) from other planets; scriptural basis for the reality of such mythological characters such as Hercules (Gen. 6)

· The Flood of Noah: the total destruction of modern man’s first planet wide civilization (Gen. 7-9)

· The Post Flood civilization to the Tower of Babel (Gen. 10-11)

· Division of the Earth: Mankind divided according to language, culture and geography, splitting of land mass into continents (Gen. 10:25)

· The rise of modern civilizations: Sumer, Babylon, Egypt, India, Greece, Rome (Gen. 10 – present)

· Abraham to Jesus Christ: the distinctness of the Hebrew and Jewish people (Gen. 12 – Jesus Christ)

· The First advent to the Second Coming of Jesus Christ / beginning of the end of the age of man (New Testament)

· BETWEEN TIME AND ETERNITY

· The thousand year reign of Jesus Christ on Earth (Rev. 20:4)

· END OF THE AGE OF MAN: FINAL JUDGMENT AND ELIMINATION OF EVIL FROM THE UNIVERSE (Rev. 20:10–15)

· NEW HEAVENS AND A NEW EARTH: FROM MORTALITY TO IMMORTALITY, TIME TO ETERNITY (Rev. 21–22)

The history of the created Universe as theorized by science, mythology and all religious books differs substantially from that found in the Bible. There are books other than the Bible that claim that God created the Universe but the biblical history and chronology of creation differs substantially from that of these sources. THE ABOVE SYNOPSIS IS THAT OF A BOOK I AM WRITING ON THE HISTORY OF CREATION, BASED ON THE BIBLE. Whether one agrees with it or not, whether one believes in the God of the Bible or not, the fact remains that it is the only book in the world that gives a logical account of history from the beginning to the end, from the very origins of the Universe to the end of time, from Alpha to Omega. I have not found any other satisfactory explanation for our origins and existence as well as our mortality other than that in the Biblical account. In subsequent weeks I will be writing in detail on each of the subjects presented in the above synopsis at the rate of at least one topic every week. The book when it is finished will not only offer a coherent and logical history of creation, it will address the vital question of why God created anything at all in the first place? More importantly it will answer the question of why God created man and why God chose to incarnate Himself in the form of man?
