U.S. wildfires rage on | Video | Reuters.com

This wildfire in the U.S. state of Colorado had burned its way through more than 30,500 hectares of land by Saturday. It's destroyed at least 200 homes in its path and killed a 62-year-old woman who died in her mountain cabin. It's the state's second largest on record, and the most destructive. The fire was started by lightning two weeks ago. Fire fighters in Utah have similar troubles but not so far on the same scale. They're dropping flame retardant chemicals but gusting winds are hindering the battle. The flames had scorched some 2300 hectares of land by Saturday, about a third more than the day before. That fire was started by target shooters near a city landfill site on Thursday. Paul Chapman, Reuters
