CHAPTER 4 / BEFORE THE BEGINNING: BLUEPRINTS OF THE UNIVERSE

As proven in the previous chapter, contrary to popular interpretations, God did not just get up and randomly start forming the Universe; everything that was planned to be constructed was patterned to microscopic detail prior to the ‘beginning’. This is where it becomes important to understand the difference between ‘Creation’ and ‘Formation’. Things are created (a pattern or blueprint is formulated) in the mind but formed (shaped and moulded) with the hands. God’s mind created everything first long before his hands formed anything. Gen. 2:2 ‘And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.’ This verse of scripture firstly makes a distinction between ‘Creating’ (Patterning) and ‘Making’ (Forming), and secondly it can also be read as...all his work which God CREATED TO MAKE. The six days of Genesis were not Creative in the sense that God did not lay out any new plans of what he wanted to make, they were formative as confirmed by Exodus 20:11: For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it. This verse of scripture describes the events of these 6 days as days of Construction or Formation rather than of Creation.

The six days of Genesis chapter 1 beginning in verse 3 are more accurately six days of RE–FORMATION rather than of original creation, meaning these were not the days in which God laid out the blueprints or patterns of all that he would later form with his hands. For instance light was not created on the first day, God is light and therefore light has always existed. Waters that covered the earth were not created or even formed on the 2^nd day; they were just relocated off the surface to beyond the atmosphere of the earth. Dry land was not created or formed on the third day; it was made to APPEAR by the drying of the surface. Prov. 8 gives a detailed description of the time of the original formation of the Earth and nowhere in that chapter is it shown that the original earth was ‘without form and void’, that ‘darkness was on the face of the deep’; it doesn’t say that the ‘deep’ or the seas covered the entire surface of the planet. As a matter of fact Prov. 8 categorically states that the sea was given a strict command that its waters could not pass the bounds set for it by God and this command was given at the very time the foundations of the earth were laid, how then did the waters cover the entire surface of the earth as we find that state of the Earth to be in Gen. 1:2? Gen. 1:2 also tells us that the Earth was ‘Without Form’ which in the original Hebrew is the word ‘Tohu’ that means ‘empty wasteland’. The same Hebrew word ‘Tohu’ is used in Isaiah 45:18 that tells us that God did not create the Earth in vain, as an empty wasteland which was its condition as described in Gen. 1:2. Isaiah 45:18 For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited,...So in one place the Bible is telling us that the Earth was an ‘empty wasteland’ whereas in another place it tells us that God did not create it as an empty wasteland! Does this not prove that the earth became ‘Tohu’ or ‘Vain’ or ‘Without Form’ at some later date after its original construction?

Such questions as those above can be answered by understanding not only that there is a gap of time of indeterminate length between Gen. 1:1 and Gen 1:2 but also that everything created is not formed immediately. Creation occurred before the beginning of time but formation is a process in time that has been ongoing for ages. Eph. 3:5 ‘Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men...’this scripture and others in the Bible speak of ages of time having preceded the current age, in each age more of the patterns and blueprints that God formulated from before the beginning of time have been ‘formed’, brought into visible material existence.

This principle that ‘Creation’ can predate ‘Formation’ by eons is best illustrated by scriptures that speak of the incarnation of God in the body of Jesus Christ. Revelation 3:14 reads ‘...These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God’. Jesus Christ is identified in the Bible as the beginning of God’s creation but in reality he did not come into bodily existence till about 2000 years ago. The very purpose of all creation is for God the Creator to be incarnated in bodily form and thus Jesus Christ is identified as the beginning of the creation of God; he is the reason why all things were created in the first place. So according to the order in which the pattern for all Creation was formulated Jesus Christ comes first but in the order in which he was Formed he comes last, which is why he is the Alpha and Omega, the first and the last.

A thought process or creative process precedes the formative process, of bringing into being that has been previously thought of, patterned, and blueprinted. This is apparent from the office of the prophet in the Bible, of one who among other things foretold of many yet future events. Throughout the Old Testament and even the New Testament, God has foretold of many future events through his prophets, in particular the incarnation of God in bodily form which happened in Jesus Christ hundreds and even thousands of years after the original prophecy was given. What this reveals is the principle of planning long before the execution of the plans. This same principle is employed by man in his everyday life from the simplest of things such as planning what to have for breakfast to designing a space colony for habitation on the Moon or Mars. Thought precedes construction and this is the only way for seeming paradoxes in the Bible to be resolved. For example, Revelation 13:8 ‘And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. Now we know that in Time Jesus was not slain for the sin of the world until about 2000 years ago yet his sacrifice was planned long before the foundation of the world was ever laid.

In order to differentiate between the Creative process and the Formative process, it is important to understand that Creation occurs in the mind long before construction or Formation is undertaken. Creation generally takes less time than Formation and in the case of the material heavens and Earth we may say that the creation did not take place in time at all. The planning phase of that which was to be formed later happened before even a single particle of matter was formed. Since Time is inextricably connected to Matter (not Space), Time did not begin until the first particle of Matter came into existence. Therefore the creative or planning or thought process that went into creating the Universe is not a process of Time. Prov. 8 and Jeremiah 10:12 among other scriptures reveal that there was a process of ‘Creation’ before the ‘Beginning’, that is before the beginning of Time, and that process in not one of material construction but rather of planning, purposing and thinking, in other words a mental process. Psalm 33:6 By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth. The Word by which the heavens were made is not made out of matter; thoughts and ideas are immaterial which is why the creation of the material Universe started with immaterial thoughts and ideas, in the form of a language that existed only in the mind of the immaterial ‘Spirit’ that is God. Therefore it becomes possible to understand that the entire Universe that is constructed out of matter was first ‘Created’ using an immaterial language or Word as stated in John 1: 1-3: 1. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2. The same was in the beginning with God. 3. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

Many a Bible teacher has claimed that God spoke everything into existence and we do not dispute that fact, however, more clarification is needed as to how exactly the process worked. First came the planning which is the equivalent of God designing a seed for all of creation. Every seed whether it is of man or of a plant has a language encoded in it that defines what that seed would bring forth when planted in fertile ground, a womb in the case of a man and the earth in the case of a plant. So the creative process was a process of creating immaterial seeds that are a string of words like DNA. Look at the definition of GENE from Wikipedia: A gene is the basic unit of heredity in a living organism. All living things depend on genes. Genes hold the information to build and maintain an organism's cells and pass genetic traits to offspring. A modern working definition of a gene is "a locatable region of genomic sequence, corresponding to a unit of inheritance, which is associated with regulatory regions, transcribed regions, and or other functional sequence regions ".^[1][2] Incorrect colloquial usage of the term gene may actually refer to an allele: a gene is the basic instruction, a sequence of DNA, while an allele is one variant of that instruction.

From the above definition it becomes obvious that a gene which is the basic unit of heredity in a living organism is nothing more than language or words. In the above definition we read words that prove that without an underlying language or words, the gene would not be a gene and no living thing would exist.

Information, Traits, Sequence (DNA), Transcribed, Instruction, these are words that speak loud and clear of the use of language; of words being the fundamental building blocks of all living things. Does Science then not in fact confirm that which is written in Scripture: All things were made by him (the Word, the Language, the Thoughts, the Words, the Mind of God)? Who encoded the original information on the genes, who created the sequences, who transcribed the regions, who gave the basic instructions without which no living organism would exist? Without him was not any thing made that was made. Unless he whose understanding is infinite had not encoded his language on the seeds of all living organisms, organic life could not exist, could not even have come into existence. Psalm 147:5 Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite. As discussed in earlier chapters, the language with which God spoke everything into existence is not Hebrew or Greek or English, it is the living language of LIFE that is mathematically encoded on all matter, organic or inorganic.

Therefore before the beginning of material creation, of Matter itself, and of Time, God wrote in his own mind the language that defined all of Creation. Having defined it and having written all the algorithms that would result in matter, in all its shapes and forms, organic and inorganic. These definitions written in God`s language became the ‘Seeds’ that have grown in the process of Time to become not only the material Universe that is visible to our eyes but also the extra dimensional worlds that constitute the ‘Invisible’ (to the natural eyes) dimension which we identify as the spirit world. Col. 1:16 ‘For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible...’

This chapter can be concluded by understanding that having created everything in his mind, God is at rest for everything will proceed according to his plans to fulfill his purposes. Since he is the author of creation every created thing can only take the form and shape that the Creator has given it. The prophet Jeremiah asked the rhetorical question, Who is he that saith, and it cometh to pass, when the Lord commandeth it not? (Lam. 3:37). Since God the Creator has written all the algorithms that define his creation, and he has given to none of his creatures the language necessary to alter these algorithms even one iota, he can confidently assert that there in none that can say and it come to pass when he has commanded it not. This is what makes God Omnipotent and Omniscient; all his creatures have been programmed by him to serve his purposes and his purposes alone. As an intelligent creature it would serve man well to understand the purpose for which his Creator has formed him. Regrettably man is too busy worrying about the body in which he exists for an infinitesimally minuscule amount of time to concern himself with unimportant things such as finding out who his Creator is or in what state he will exist in once he departs from this body. All of God’s creation has been finished before the beginning of Time but the formation or construction is an ongoing process that will stretch into eternity.
