Another mass shooting in US: At least 8 shot in Empire State Building shooting, gunman dead

At least two people have reportedly died and eight more have been injured as a shooting broke out outside the Empire State Building in Manhattan, say police. The attacker is said to be one of the dead.
Two people died, four others were shot at and six more have sustained other injuries in what the local affiliate of ABC channel describes as "a workplace dispute that spilled out onto the street.
The gunman sustained a fatal wound from the police and died on the scene. A weapon has been found near his body.
One person has been taken into police custody.
Some of the victims were found inside the lobby of the Empire State Building, say US media outlets, while some others were found in the street. The victims' conditions remain unknown, but one of them is reported to be in an "extremely critical condition."
The shooting happened near the intersection of 33rd Street and Fifth Avenue around 9:00 am local time, says CBS 2 broadcaster. It is not yet clear what led to the shooting and whether it was pre-mediated or not.
So far there is no apparent link to terrorism, the NYPD tells Reuters.
A large police presence and multiple ambulances are reported on the scene. The FBI has also responded.

  1. This one looks genuine. You can tell from the very low kill rate compared to the injury rate. The general public has a distorted view about how dangerous guns really are. In inexpert hands they aren't very deadly at all. When you see a shooting with a high kill rate and low injury rate, that's an example of world class marksmanship. To kill a lot of people very quickly they have to shoot from the hip which is a very rare ability. To not get wrestled to the ground they have to know how to keep stepping around and turning around on their feet whilst still landing kill shots and that indicates military training. And they should go to the Olympics because they'd get a medal for sure. Most people don't know or care that in the twentieth century there were one hundred million people killed in motor vehicle accidents which is more than all the wars ever fought on the face of the earth put together. If it's about human life then the mobile iron box should be outlawed. Not to mention that if you accidently kill somebody with a gun, you're going to jail for sure. If you accidently kill somebody with a car, that was just an accident. It's just the way people want to look at it. The truth is whatever someone thinks it is.
