WASHINGTON (AFP)--The U.S. military Wednesday ordered a Marine unit specializing in emergency nuclear response to deploy to Japan to assist local authorities in addressing the massive crisis, officials said.

Some 155 Marines from the service's Chemical Biological Incident Response Force are scheduled to leave the U.S. Thursday and arrive in Japan Friday, a U.S. defense official said. Read More....

Why did the US and Russia, the 2 nations with the most nuclear expertise not deploy there the very moment this problem began? Is it not obvious to the powers that be that this is far from a Japanese problem alone?

Possible tornado, big hail hits Mississippi

JACKSON - Authorities say wind damaged more than 40 homes in central Mississippi, hail the size of golf balls and quarters pounded some areas and heavy rains flooded roads and homes. Mike Edmonston, meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Jackson, said officials were trying to determine if it was a tornado that hit Simpson County. The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency said three homes in Simpson County were destroyed and 40 damaged. Water went into eight Scott County homes.

Edmonston said golf ball-size hail hit Claiborne, Copiah, Rankin and Simpson counties with smaller hail in other areas. He said golf ball-size hail hit across the state line in Tensas Parish Louisiana and lightning blew out the back window of a police car in Franklin Parish.

SWARMS of winged creepy crawlies have invaded the Gold Coast, leaving scientists and locals puzzled as to where they came from. Hot on the heels of tonnes of water beetles taking over the Coast's beaches, droves of dragonflies are buzzing in.

Jessica Guertin, of Nobby Beach, could not believe her eyes when she went for a walk near her home, with countless dragonflies swarming "as far as the eye could see".

"The entire sky was just filled with dragonflies. I've never seen anything like it," she said.

"It happened around sunset. Everybody was just standing on the beach dumbfounded.

This past week's main News story remains the nuclear catastrophe in Japan, which far from being resolved is getting worse by the day. It is no exaggeration that Metropolitan Tokyo which is the most densely populated area in the world is under a severe threat of becoming the world's first post apocalyptic city. Tragically this problem is not limited to Japan only but will have long lasting effects on the whole world.  We pray for the people of Japan and those of that region of the world for we know not how long the effects of this disaster will last, and what immediate impact it will have on the health of people in Japan and that region.

The Insidious Effects of Japan's Disaster

I came across this well written article today and am linking it here. The disaster in Japan will have long term health consequences for the whole world, especially those in the Northern Hemisphere. But the consequences will be near catastrophic for the world from an economic perspective. Although this writer is confident that Japan will rebuild rapidly, I am not so sure. For one thing the nuclear catastrophe there is far from over. Why the Japanese government not order a Chernobyl solution immediately is beyond me? Given the scope of the potential consequences and the fact that more than one reactor was irreparably damaged; the safest solution would have been to entomb the whole complex like Chernobyl immediately. Even if they do that now, which I believe they will have to, the effects of the leaked radiation could be felt for decades in Japan and beyond. Secondly I believe that there are bigger disasters in store for the world this year and beyond. Sooner rather than later, the world will run out of resources and finances to cope with all the catastrophes that are being inflicted upon it. So I do not believe that Japan will ever go back to being the nation it was on March 10, 2011. I also believe that this disaster, in concert with a with the widening Mideast and Arab world crisis will lead to much higher energy prices that in turn will sink the US dollar and throw the whole world into a depression. The following quote from the article sums up my feeling that this crisis may sink the whole world economically, and perhaps in other ways not yet discernible.

“But the financial fallout from the crisis looms even larger than the health, energy, or industrial issues. The Japanese people are stoic, disciplined, and very hardworking. Recovery in Japan is likely to be faster than many expect. However, in order to repair the flood, quake, and nuclear damage, Japan will likely need to spend trillions of dollars (hundreds of trillions of yen). Newsweek asks the question if these are the days of The Apocalypse; Wars, Earthquakes and Famines are inflicting many parts of the world. An ever growing economic crisis is crushing the poorest people fast pushing the Middle class into poverty, extreme poverty in some cases. In this program recorded on March 17th, Pastorann and Paul Sandhu discuss current events such as the Japan quake and tsunami, and the ongoing nuclear disaster and compare them to Biblical prophesies of the 'End of the World'. It would seems that the prophesied days of the end times are coming into clear view just over the horizon, we expect things to get a lot more catastrophic as the year progresses; the Japan disaster is but a small preview of bigger problems for the world that lie straight ahead this year and into coming years.

2010 was the most devastating year of this century in regards to climate related disasters. The three biggest catastrophes of 2010 were: 

1.The Haiti Earthquake

2.The Russian wildfires

3.The Pakistani floods

‘The Day of The LORD’ is not day of the Lord Jesus’ return to Earth, it is a period of time of some years that precedes The Second Coming of Jesus Christ. It is a time unlike any in history in which the very heavens shall be shaken, and the earth shall reel to and fro like a drunk man. It is a time when hearts will melt and fail for fear, it will be a time of  unprecedented destruction of both the planet and living beings on it, man and animal. As more and more `Signs of the End of the World` become visible, all doubt that ‘The Day of The LORD’ is at hand will vanish. Therefore we watch and pray, but before we can do that we need to know what to watch for; that is the purpose of these teachings so that all who have eyes to see and ears to hear can understand what to look for, and how to prepare themselves for this time of gross darkness and sorrow for the world.

Signs of the End News Update: Mar. 11, 2011

My Weekly News Updates are provided for the purpose of comparing current events to Biblical prophecies to see if we are living in the days of the fulfillment of ‘The End of the World’ prophesies, or may soon witness the fulfillment of such prophesies, of which there are hundreds if not thousands in The Bible. Anyone that knows their Bible will know for sure when these prophesies will be seen being fulfilled. In my understanding we are close to that time but not quite there yet.

At the beginning of the year I theorized that 2011 will most likely be the year that the Global Economy crashes as a result of a collapse of the US dollar. I theorized that on its current trajectory of devaluation, the dollar could last for a long time yet, so there would have to be an event or events that will greatly hasten the demise of the dollar. I had anticipated one or more of the following scenarios playing out this year that would result in the dollar and the Global economy crashing, leading to war, famine, disease and other catastrophes that may potentially destroy  a billion or more lives this decade.

1.       OIL PRICE SHOCK / Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and / or Iran experience a revolution or significant social unrest leading to disruptions in supply of oil. (Already happening)

2.       CYBER-ATTACK(s) / Western Financial computer systems (NY, London etc.) suffer significant damage through cyber - attack(s) that will most likely be blamed on Chinese hackers. (Already happening)

3.       TERRORIST ATTACK(s) / One or more 'terrorist attacks' are executed in major cities, most likely in the US.

4.       MAJOR WAR(s) / One or more major wars break out – Middle East, Korea, Pakistan, India, China (?)

5.       CATASTROPHIC EARTH CHANGE / earthquake, volcano, tsunami etc. that wreaks havoc on a large area that is of Financial / Commercial significance to the world economy.

6.       BREAKOUT OF A PANDEMIC (s)

 The last one has been added to the five I previously listed, a pandemic (or pandemics) may break out that would cause multiple millions of fatalities. The reason I mention these potential world changing events at the beginning of this update is because OIL PRICE SHOCK is already being felt but lately there have been many reports of CYBER – ATTACKS, and also of heightened levels of TERRORIST ATTACK threats. It is possible, maybe even highly probable that we will see all of the above scenarios played out by the end of this year! The world as we know it is vanishing right before our eyes; are you ready for that which is surely coming?

This week I want to keep this update simple and short; the following report just about sums up what the world can expect in the coming months and years. I want to address the subject of not just the economic problems confronting the world but how we can prepare to face these problems. The Bible tells us in Proverbs 22:3 ‘A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself: but the simple pass on, and are punished. So foreseeing potential problems developing is being prudent, and in these times being prudent may be the difference between life and death. Just the following two problems will cause extreme hardship for people all over the world, and the survival of billions will be at risk; the time to prepare is now!

Read More Although I posted an Economic update separately this week, I thought it appropriate to include the above story from The Wall Street Journal, which is probably the most influential financial publication in America. For the WSJ to print an article such as the one above, proves the precarious position of the US dollar atop the world financial ladder; it inevitable that it will fall, the only question is how far?

ECONOMIC NEWS Economic News Video Update: It is my belief, as that of many other Christians and non – Christians alike, that we are living in unprecedented times, in times where the ‘End of the World’ as we know it is imminent. I base my belief upon Biblical prophesies, and in these reports I try and determine how close or how far we are from the actual end. These News Updates and other prophetic teachings are for the purpose of comparing current events to Biblical prophesies to determine what we may expect to see in the near future based on prophecy. I believe we can draw a pretty accurate picture of things that will be coming soon, and what we can do to prepare ourselves for the turmoil that is already beginning to engulf the world, turmoil that will soon turn into tribulation for all that dwell on the face of the Earth. So what signs should we look for that will be a clear signal that the prophesied ‘End of the World’ has begun? I have written many times before that it is my belief that the ‘End of the World’ as prophesied in the Bible will begin with a collapse of the world economy; we are currently witnessing this collapse in its early stages. In my opinion total global economic collapse will be signaled by the collapse of the US dollar, an event that was unthinkable, at least among mainstream academics and journalists just a couple years ago. However, these days, almost everyday multiple reports come out, even in the mainstream media, about the coming collapse of the dollar. It is no longer debatable whether the US dollar will crash and lose its role as the world’s Reserve Currency; I believe it is a foregone conclusion. Although we can conjecture what the consequences of such a collapse will be, I do not believe any one person can fully evaluate the gravity of the economic catastrophe that will result from a collapse of the world’s Reserve Currency. It is this event, more than any other, which will signal that we are witnessing the ‘Beginning of Sorrows’ (Matthew 24:8) for the world and mankind. The ‘Sorrows’ as prophesied to come by the Lord Jesus are 1. Warfare. 2. Famines. 3. Deadly Infectious Diseases. 4. Earthquakes and other ‘Natural’ disasters. However, before these ‘Sorrows’ begin in earnest the world’s economy must collapse bringing misery to every nation on Earth.
