In the Beginning - God and Language Part 3 / Who is God the Father?

Click here for Part 1 and Part 2

12For the word of God is quick (ALIVE), and powerful (ENERGY), and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. (Hebrews 4:12, King James Version)

GOD THE FATHER MAY BE DEFINED AS A SPIRIT THAT IS AN INTELLIGENT, SENTIENT, LIVING, ENERGY, SELF-EXISTENT BEING: Before Time and Space were created God the Father existed in the form of Pure Energy, Infinite Intelligence, as Spirit that occupies no space, and exists not in time. Time itself begins from the moment God spoke, that is His Energy or Power that He has and is, was directed intelligently through the use of words to bring into being the very things defined by those words. Keep in mind that God’s spoken word is not English or any human language but rather energy sent out, most likely in the form of sound waves. It is no exaggeration to state that Sonic Energy is powerful; and generally employed destructively by man through such devices as directed energy weapons, sound cannons etc.. Quote from Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sonic_weapon , Sonic and ultrasonic weapons (USW) are weapons of various types that use sound to injure, incapacitate, or kill an opponent.” Sonic energy is also employed for healing purposes through use of ultrasonic machines and even through music. To conclude that SOUND IS ENERGY is both scientific and logical. This is exactly what is meant in John 1:1 that states: ‘THE WORD (the sound, the intelligence, the energy) WAS GOD’. The very word Energy is used in the bible to describe the Word of God in Hebrews 4:12 that states: ‘The Word of God is quick and powerful…’ This word ‘powerful’ in the original Greek is the Word Energeo from which we get the English word Energy. So the bible states that the Word of God is Energy, and for the Word to have created all things as claimed in John 1:3 and Hebrews 11:2 among other scriptures, it stands to reason that the Word is Energy, how else could anything have come into existence? Since God is the Word, then is it not reasonable to conclude that God is Energy, how else could He have existed when matter and space did not yet exist? Everything that we see with our eyes, all matter is a form of energy, solidified and bound together by the Intelligence that created it.

16For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:

17And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. (Colossians 1:16-17, King James Version) God’s power is the glue that holds all things together, binds the very molecules and atoms that give shape to various created things.

Everything was conceived in the mind of God by His Intelligence that may be compared to a computer with infinite processing power. The processing power of computers is based on language, binary language used in human computers has many limitations, and therefore these computers, though increasingly powerful will not become ‘Terminator’ or ‘HAL’ from ‘2001: A Space Odyssey’ or ‘Smith’ from the Matrix movies anytime soon. I believe our current computer languages are too limited; only a new language based on non-human intelligences is capable of creating those types of seemingly omnipotent ‘intelligent’ machines. In that sense man too is an intelligent machine endowed with the faculty of language by his Creator which is what gives him limited information processing power. I say limited because God has indeed put a limit on human intelligence, not from the beginning, but from the time of the Tower of Babel where man’s language faculties and thus his intelligence were greatly reduced. Prior to that epoch man’s information processing powers were almost unlimited but have been greatly reduced since that time because his faculty of language has been severely limited. It is believed that man only uses 5% of his brain’s processing power, the other 95% was actually shut off by God so that man can no longer ‘speak’ the divine language that he did prior to the days of the Tower of Babel.

6And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.

7Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech. (Genesis 11:6-7, King James Version).

It was the act of confounding or corrupting the language of man that reduced mankind from being builders of gateways to the stars to becoming worshipers of stars and other heavenly bodies. Where once they understood the science of intergalactic travel and built Stargate type devices, which in all likelihood what the tower of Babel was, they now looked in dumb amazement at the heavens and started worshiping celestial bodies consisting of mere dust and gases. It is interesting that one of the meanings of the word ‘confound’ in Gen 11:7 is ‘To Mingle’; essentially God mingled or mixed into man’s brain something like a virus that greatly reduced his information processing faculties. An analogy to explain what transpired in ancient Babel would be that of introducing a virus into the world’s most powerful super computer that reduces its information processing power to the level of an abacus. The virus that God introduced into man’s brain reduced him from the intelligence level of a ‘god’ to that of someone little better than a dumb animal. Biblically speaking man has not evolved from a lower to higher intelligence being; on the contrary he has devolved from someone of near infinite intelligence to one with severely limited intelligence. I’ll cover the story of the tower of Babel in greater detail in this series for it was one of the most significant events in human history.

God’s language capabilities, his abilities to express ideas or thoughts in words are infinite;

5Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite. (Psalm 147:5, King James Version). The information processing power of God’s mind is INFINITE; this is due to the fact that God’s language capabilities are infinite. No problem can possibly exist, the solution to which God is incapable of expressing in words and therefore no problem can exist to which God cannot find the solution. Keep in mind that though the words of the divine language may be heard as speech in English or Greek or Chinese or any other human or even non – human language but the words themselves are not expressed as such by God, that is, they are not expressed in human speech. The words are expressed as ‘energy’; for lack of a better comparison God’s words can be compared to nanobots or other microscopic particles that have a code written in them to perform a given task. The words are literally particles of energy that have a code written in them to perform the very task expressed by the words.

10For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:

11So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. (Isaiah 55:10-11, King James Version). When God sends his word out, he is sending forth not only an intelligent description of what it is that is meant to be accomplished by the words being expressed but the words themselves are energy that will bring forth that which is being spoken.

Matter has a beginning, “

1In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. (Genesis 1:1, King James Version). In order for matter to have a beginning, the energy needed to create that matter had to be present before matter could come into existence. That ENERGY from which all matter was created is GOD THE FATHER. It is strange for us to think of God in such terms as Energy, Intelligence, and Mind without a body but nonetheless it is factual because it is biblical.

1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. (John 1:1, King James Version). In John 1:1, the word ‘WORD’ in the original Greek language is the word ‘LOGOS’. Logos means intelligence, it means reason, it means to compute, it means THOUGHT, it means mental faculty, it means expression, it means speech, it means sound, it means LIFE, and it means ENERGY. In the above meaning if we substitute the word GOD for LOGOS since Logos is God, then we can biblically and doctrinally state that:

  • God the Father is Life
  • God the Father is Immaterial Intelligence
  • God the Father is Reason
  • God the Father is Mind
  • God the Father is Invisible Power or Energy
  • God the Father is Sound
  • God the Father is Speech
  • God the Father is Spirit
  • God the Father is Light
  • God the Father is Love

Even with our limited mental capabilities, it is somewhat understandable how infinite energy can exist without occupying space or in material form. However it is very difficult to comprehend how an invisible and immaterial being without a body can be sentient, can feel, can have emotions, can love and desire to be loved. Nonetheless that is who God the Father is, an invisible and immaterial self – existent being without a body, without being matter yet being sentient. Sentient is defined as: 1632, "capable of feeling," from L. sentientem (nom. sentiens) "feeling," prp. of sentire "to feel" (see sense). Meaning "conscious" (of something) is from 1815. Though God the Father is living energy he is more than that, HE IS A PERSON with a personality that defines him. Just as a human being is defined by his personality not his body, so too is God. We do not assign greatness of good or evil to anyone based merely on their body, for example Hitler was not judged by history for his body but rather for the person that inhabited that body. If we can grasp the fact that a person inhabiting a body is not the same as the body, that the actual person need not occupy any space or even consist of matter then the mystery of God becomes just a little bit less mysterious. So God the Father being Spirit, not consisting of matter yet is a person that is capable of experiencing the full spectrum of pain and pleasure. He can be grieved but he can also rejoice, he can be pained but he can also enjoy the pleasures of life. Even as humans we can understand that pain and pleasure are not merely bodily functions; one can be pained in the heart without being ill in the body, so it can be understood that God the Father is a non – corporeal Spirit, a living, feeling person whose defining characteristic is LOVE. It is this person that has created everything, all matter, corporeal and non – corporeal intelligent beings and all that exists, visible and invisible. The bible tells us in

11Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created. (Revelation 4:11, King James Version)

Though God the Father who is Spirit is an invisible, omnipotent intelligence, is a sentient being yet he required a body, to take on corporeal form to enjoy the very pleasures that he knew with his mind, felt in his heart. I have touched briefly in past articles on the importance of the body in the experiencing of life; in the next segment I will write in some detail on this topic that is of vital importance. It is in understanding the role of the body that will reveal to us the real significance of material creation. It is in this revelation that we will come to understand who the Son of God is, and why God the Father who is Spirit deemed it necessary to reproduce himself in corporeal form, become God in the flesh which is Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, the second person of the three that bear record in Heaven.

7For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. (1 John 5:7, King James Version)
