Weekly News Update / Feb. 18, 2011
Since the beginning of 2011, I have been posting a weekly News update series that compares current News reports to Biblical prophesies to determine if these prophesies are being fulfilled or will soon be fulfilled. In this series I primarily address the question of HOW the world will come to an end. In this introductory article and video, I address the question of WHY the world must come to an end.
Introduction: Why must the world end?
SIGNS OF THE END OF THE WORLD: These words sound very ominous, and so they should, but those who put their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ understand that the purpose for which God gave us these signs is for us to know when the signs are being fulfilled or close to being fulfilled. Therefore it is important to be aware of current events transpiring in our world; for when these events begin to correspond with Biblical prophecy, then we will know that the time of the fulfillment of all things written is close at hand. For example in Luke 21:9 Jesus warned that … “when ye shall hear of wars and commotions, be not terrified: for these things must first come to pass; but the end is not by and by…” If we are not paying attention to what is going on in our world, how will we hear of wars and commotions and other signs that must be fulfilled before the end comes?
In past writings and audios I have repeatedly stated that the Bible does not teach that the end of the world means the end of the planet earth. The planet will continue for a long time after the world that presently sits upon it is long gone. The planet is a terrestrial body not made by man, but the world that sits upon it consists of cities, villages and other objects that are manmade; it is the manmade structures and everything built my man that will be destroyed as the world comes to an end as it did in the days of Noah. In those days the planet saw catastrophic destruction but the Earth itself was not completely destroyed. However, the world that then existed was completely and totally destroyed; the cities, the villages and other structures that constitute civilization were completely destroyed so that man had to begin all over again. In the process of this destruction by various means, by man himself and by powers beyond his control, the Earth too will experience catastrophic destruction as it did in the days of Noah. I believe that the days in which the world will experience the type of destruction not seen since the days of Noah, and loss of human and animal life on a scale also not seen since the days of Noah, are close at hand. Therefore it is more important than ever before to watch closely that which is transpiring in our world and to prayerfully compare current events to scripture to accurately discern present day times and seasons. The Lord Jesus warned repeatedly not to be caught unawares by the long ago prophesied catastrophic end of this world.
It is for the purpose of making us aware so that these times do not overtake us as a thief in the night that we have been given unmistakable signs that would reveal to those who have the eyes to see, and ears to hear, that the end of the world is close at hand. The majority of the people in this world will continue leading their lives in the hypnotic trance that prevents them from understanding these signs; therefore this information is for the small remnant that are not deceived; the small remnant who are ‘watching and praying’, the small remnant who will not be overtaken as a thief in the night by the soon coming ‘End of the World’, and soon coming ‘Day of The Lord’, and the day of vengeance of our God. Scripture references for previously linked terms are Matthew 13, Matthew 24, Joel 2 and Isaiah 61.
Though News Reports are generally accompanied by causes as determined by the reporters or the powers that be but what we look for are spiritual causes of the conditions that are prevailing in our world that will cause the world to come to an end. For example it is written in Proverbs 1:32 For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them. When God sends prosperity people do not understand that He is the source of their well being, be it corporeal or spiritual. They consume the wealth gifted to them on their own selfish and often wicked desires. Weekends become times for partying and Sundays for watching football, and drinking some more. Hardly anyone acknowledges that the very breath that they breathe comes from God, and that He is their Creator. Anything that man makes, be it an automobile, a machine or a house, it is meant to serve a purpose for man. However, hardly anyone acknowledges that their Creator must also have had a purpose in making them, in going to the pain and trouble of designing and forming them. They think that the purpose of their existence is consumption, to consume as much as they can, for as long as they can, and therefore they gladly accept the ‘moniker’ of ‘Consumer’ that they have been labeled with in this world. The selfishness and greed of the prosperous people blinds their hearts and minds to the destitution of the impoverished nations and peoples, which have not been blessed as the wealthy and prosperous nations have been blessed.
The prosperous and wealthy believe that they deserve what they have; they do not stop and consider that it is God who chose for them to be born in regions of the world where even the poor are wealthy by the standards of most of rest of the world. They do not consider that they were gifted with opportunities and benefits that most of the rest of the people will never be offered in this world. Rather than being thankful to their Creator for the material blessings that they have been given, for the opportunities that have been afforded them, they think it is their right to have the prosperity and wealth that comes their way. Therefore they truly become ‘Consumers’ and spend their whole life in hedonistic pursuits, which at the end of their course on Earth, leads their souls into destruction. The prosperity of fools does indeed destroy them, for ultimately that prosperity comes at the expense of someone else who is left impoverished. The more the prosperous regions of our world begin to consume, the more hedonistic, selfish and greedy they become; the more perverted and debased their lifestyles become, the more immoral they become and the more ungodly they become. It is for these reasons that comes the wrath of God upon the children of men, and regrettably it would appear that the days of the long ago prophesied end of the world are upon us, or will soon be upon us.
- Deuteronomy 8:18 But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.
- James 5:1-4 / 1 Go to now, ye rich men, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon you. 2 Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are motheaten. 3 Your gold and silver is cankered; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you, and shall eat your flesh as it were fire. Ye have heaped treasure together for the last days. 4 Behold, the hire of the labourers who have reaped down your fields, which is of you kept back by fraud, crieth: and the cries of them which have reaped are entered into the ears of the Lord of sabaoth.
The wealthy peoples of this world have not considered nor been grateful to the source of their wealth. A person living in The USA or Germany or Japan may not consider themselves to be wealthy because they are not millionaires but in contrast to the third world, they are fabulously wealthy. They have not considered that they are the beneficiaries of the corrupt financial systems of this world that price labor in different currencies, so that in one part of the world, the same labor is priced 20 times higher than in another part. These distortions benefit the few while impoverishing the majority; it is not without reason that the Word of God tells us that the hire or wages of laborers are kept back by fraud by the rich men, which in the present time are international banks and multinational corporations. Those who slave in sweatshops and in fields across the world suffer unbearably under this system, and it is only for so long that their cries will go unanswered by God. Thank God that He is a just and equitable God, He will right the wrongs, He will condemn the wicked and comfort the poor that have suffered so under their slave masters. Globalization has spread this inequality throughout the world, and has increased rather than decreased misery and suffering across the world; for these reasons judgment will come upon the whole world not just a few nations or just a few regions.
It is because the end of the world is an absolute certainty that we have been given unmistakable signs to watch for with prayer so that we will have the understanding of what is really going on in our world, not the anthro-centric CNN / Hollywood version that is constantly being beamed at us through the media. The prophetic signs of events that will comprise the ‘End of the World’ may be divided into the following categories (Please review my series of articles titled ‘Is this the End of the World’ for the reasons why these categories are relevant and important. News reports that fit these categories have been linked and prophetic Biblical references have been provided to prove that these events are pointing to an imminent fulfillment of all ‘End of the World’ prophecies recorded in the pages of The Bible.
In the following section, News reports have been grouped according to category. The heading has been linked to the original story and a brief synopsis has been provided. My comments and observations are in italics below the original report. Please click on the link to read the full story and / or to watch videos if included in the story.
