As in the days of Noah...

God told Noah he would destroy the world by sending a flood upon the face of the whole earth. Noah was a preacher according to 2 Peter 2:5 ‘And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly’. Being a preacher in the vein of his great grandfather Enoch it would stand to reason that he preached the message of coming doom through the flood that God was planning on sending. So what was the reaction of the people? Did they repent in sackcloth and ashes as the inhabitants of Nineveh did at the preaching of Jonah? Did they endeavor to understand the state of their world and why God would bring such a drastic judgment upon it? Did they copy Noah and start building arks to save themselves and their households? No they did no such thing, so what did they do? The answer may surprise some people but the bible tells us exactly what they did – NOTHING! Matthew 24:38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, 39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away;… So what were they doing in the days before the flood? They were:

• · Drinking
• · Marrying
• · Giving in Marriage

In other words they were living a ‘normal’ life, to them life was all about eating and drinking, marrying, having babies, just living a normal life, at least what is considered to be a normal life. THEY KNEW NOT that there was a problem confronting them till the very day that the flood came, and destroyed them all. Well you know what they say about the best laid plans of mice and men! All their ‘normal’ planned lives that they so cherished, all gone forever in a single day, like the sinking of the legendary Atlantis. What about the citizens of Sodom and Gomorrah, what were they up to prior to the raining down of fire and brimstone? Luke 17:28 ‘Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded; 29 But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.’ So right up until the day that destruction from above in the form of some heavy duty firepower fell upon their cities and burnt them to cinders, the jolly citizens of Sodom and Gomorrah were occupying their time in the following activities:

• · Drinking
• · Buying
• · Selling
• · Planting
• · Building

And I bet they were marrying, perhaps even having same sex marriages, and living what the world would consider a very ‘normal’ life. History teaches us that man has an amazing capacity for very easily becoming sensitized to the most horrifying evils, and considering them ‘normal.’ Things like Sodomy, pedophilia, child and human sacrifices including burning little babies in the fires, unimaginable brutality towards each other, whatever activity or lifestyle is unholy, wicked, and abominable, man can not only indulge in, he can cloak it with the garb of normality. So today, as our world rapidly degenerates into perhaps the most evil and Satanic it has ever been, man rejoices in his wickedness and evil having deluded himself into believing that all such behavior is ‘normal.’ June is ‘Gay Pride’ month across North America where homosexuals by the millions will openly flaunt their shame, and mock their creator. Are such shameful displays not harbingers of pending judgment? Isaiah 3:9 ‘The shew of their countenance doth witness against them; and they declare their sin as Sodom, they hide it not. Woe unto their soul! for they have rewarded evil unto themselves. ‘Such open flaunting of God’s commandments are financially and legally supported by our politicians, and also by the media. These parades like those of conquering Caesars of yesteryear are broadcast on TV for little children to witness unmatched displays of debauchery and deviant behavior; foolish people even take their innocent kids to watch these ‘parades’! And those of us who vex our souls with the unlawful deeds of our societies are branded as ‘bigoted’, ‘narrow minded’, ‘homophobic’ and other such reproaches are heaped upon us just because we fear God, and we fear that such emboldened ‘lawlessness’, according to God, must bring judgment upon our world on the scale of Noah’s days judgment, or at least on the scale of Lot’s days judgment.

‘Normal’ is evil! Everyone pictures evildoers as Hitlers or Stalins, and on a lesser scale as long haired hippie bikers with brass knuckles, but the truth is that God sees your sweet Auntie ‘Em’ baking apple pies for the family as evil, or your Grandpa who taught you to fish and never so much as uttered one cuss word as evil! And what makes me come to this conclusion? The simple fact that Auntie ‘Em’ did not teach Dorothy right from wrong, did not teach her that God’s laws ought not to be infringed even if man’s laws say it’s OK to do so. Man’s laws, when God is left out of those laws, are framed by the throne of iniquity, by the god of this world, Satan, not by God; Psalm 94:20 Shall the throne of iniquity have fellowship with thee, which frameth mischief by a law? There are reams of mischievous laws on our books that are openly defiant of God’s laws! Sadly, even the appearance of righteousness has disappeared from our societies! Therefore I am of the opinion that God’s judgments which have already begun will increase in severity as man’s defiance of God’s laws becomes more commonplace, and people rejoice as they break God’s laws as they will be all across North America later this month. How long do we have before God says as he did in the days of the prophet Jeremiah not to even pray for the wicked nation(s) anymore!, Jeremiah 11:14 Therefore pray not thou for this people, neither lift up a cry or prayer for them: for I will not hear them in the time that they cry unto me for their trouble.

Proverbs 28:1 The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion. It is time for God’s righteous remnant to stand up and boldly proclaim his word no matter what the threats from ungodly men and women, no matter what the consequences. Yes, there are plenty of man’s laws that will classify us as criminals as Jesus was branded a criminal by the laws of the Pharisees; as the apostles were branded as criminals by both (false) religious and secular authorities. We are not in a popularity contest, we are not looking to become prom king and queen, we simply lover our Maker, and we honor him by living by his laws even if it makes us criminals by man’s laws!

Joshua 24:15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.
