We had more time to play with the children, pray, go for long walks and rest. The LORD provided for our every need. Still is, now that we have a job. In the words of The Matrix 'there is no money'.
DeeAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1507087333994798182.post-65597916635671883022010-04-08T01:17:18.084-04:002010-04-08T01:17:18.084-04:00"Just as a crocodile stakes out his territory..."Just as a crocodile stakes out his territory for selfish purposes, not caring one bit for those outside of his territory; so too does man collect money with little or no regard for others of his species. Money therefore is the ultimate tool of self gratification."

I see this mentality with coworkers all to often. The spin tricks individuals do to solidify their position and keep others from rising is painful to watch. I choose my career path because I felt it would allow me to focus on building things and avoid the entanglements of corporate politicking. To an extent this has been the case... yet it amazes me what others will do if they deem you a threat or hinderance to their advancement. One manager I watched as he pushed out a product lead and a VP of product by propagating failure and turning upper management against them. He did not seem remorseful nor even concerned how the firing may impact those individuals or their families. When victim to similar attacks I am at a lost as how best to handle the situation... sometimes I turn the other cheek or even allow it to continue. Other times and most often I confront it with the individual responsible. Yet it rarely stops. It comes off like it must be a game to them.

I will certainly come back to this one... It has me thinking.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1507087333994798182.post-82084489780429003832010-04-07T06:21:00.091-04:002010-04-07T06:21:00.091-04:00Paul, you've written another very profound and...Paul, you've written another very profound and, as usual, excellent piece. God has certainly gifted you with major insight, and the ability to convey those insights.

I've e-mailed this piece to everyone I know.
